Copper sulfate, chemical formula CuSO4[3][4], anhydrous white powder, or due to impure light gray green, is a soluble copper salt. The common form of copper sulfate is its crystals, and copper monohydrate sulfate tetrahydrate ([Cu(H2O)4]SO4·H2O, that is, copper sulfate pentahydrate) is a blue solid, so the common name is blue alum and cholerite.
